Setup
Setting up PokéScape.
× Emulation Disclaimer:
We recommend using MGBA on Desktop for the best experience whilst playing.
Whilst other Emulators are available, using them may result in several bugs or glitches whilst playing.
Setup Instructions

1. Download the BPS patch here.

2. Download a clean English Copy of a Pokemon Emerald Rom.

Due to legal reasons, you must source the Pokemon Emerald (English) ROM yourself.

3. Visit the PokeScape ROM Patcher page here.

4. Upload the Emerald ROM (.gba file) to the ROM FILE
and the BPS Patch (pokescape.bps) to the PATCH FILE. (?)

5. Press "Apply Patch" and then Download the Patched ROM file.

6. Open the Emulator, load in the new .gba file.

Troubleshooting
Sometimes, on some mobile devices the .gba download may download as a .txt file instead. This is easily rectifiable so you can quickly start playing! You simply need to rename the file extension from .txt to .gba instead. You're good to go!
To check which version of PokeScape you are playing check the books located in the starting rooms while playing.
If the update is compatible, then to carry your current save data across to the new build all you just need to do is make sure your .sav file matches the same name as the .gba file. You can do this by renaming either file. Also depending on the emulator you are using there may be an import save option.
For more information on setting up the game or if you're having trouble, please check out the Discord.
DO NOT use the "Load State" or "Save State" buttons.
These will cause your save file to disappear between version updates and reloads!

Instead, Save your game as you would normally.

Then, use the "Export Save" button.

This will download it as a ".srm" file.

Press the "Restart" Emulator Button.

Use the "Import Save" button to re-load your save, using the ".srm" file you just downloaded.

Then, use the "Export Save" button.

This will download it as a ".srm" file.

Change the extension of ".srm" to ".sav" (or whatever extension your Emulator is using).
->
Load this new file to the emulator of your choice.

Then, use the "Export Save" button.

This will download it as a ".srm.txt" file.

Remove the ".txt" from the downloaded file, but keep the ".srm" extension.
->
Press the "Restart" Emulator button.

Use the "Import Save" button to re-load your save.
